Every week Indepen-dance runs creative movement classes for people with disabilities and their carers. The classes are conducted in a safe and appropriate environment and are designed to be fun, creative and accessible to all with a focus on improvisation and moving together. Our adult core classes run on a Monday (Centre for Contemporary Arts), Wednesday (Maryhill Community Centre), Thursday (Tramway), Friday (Queens Park Govanhill Parish Church). All core adult classes run in two sessions; 11am – 12pm and 1pm to 2pm. Pay as you go £6 per class and block booking £4 per class for the number of weeks in our term.

An invitation only class that runs on a Wednesday from 10.30am to 12pm and 1pm to 2pm at the Scottish Ballet studio in the Tramway. £6 per class and block booking £4 per class for the number of weeks in our term. (paid membership class)
Our Friday night social class is for those who would like to have a wider social aspect to the classes with the class going to the adjoining pub round the corner for a regular booth after class to socialise with the class and tutor (this is optional to attend). It runs on a Friday evening at the Scottish Dance Teachers Alliance (SDTA) from 6.30pm to 8pm with the Old School House pub afterwards. It is £7 pay as you go and £5 block for the number of weeks in the term. (paid membership class)
Children & Youth
Our children and youth core classes run on a Tuesday (Scottish Dance Teachers Alliance) for 9-16year
olds, Wednesday (The Pearce Institute) for 13-20 year olds, (Paid membership classes). We also have a class on a Saturday (Govan and Linthouse church) for 5-8 year olds. Pay as you go £6 per class and block booking £4 per class for the number of weeks in our term.

Our Young1’z class is our youth performance group and runs on a Wednesday evening from 6.30pm to 8pm. This class is for ages 15 to 23 and is for those that are looking to take the dancing further than our general youth classes. Invitation only. Class is £6 pay as you go and £4 for the block for the number of weeks in the term. (paid membership class)
Specialist & Outreach
Our specialised classes are called ‘Dance Your Socks Off’ which for 0-5year olds and their parent / carer to participate together and be introduced to dance at an early age in a fun environment. These classes run on a Thursday and are £3.50 per family and more than 2 children £4.50. We run 2 of these classes as a block with a trial Drop in being tested. We also have classes for varying abilities called ‘Professional Technique class’ for experienced dancers and professionals running every Wednesday 9.15-10.30, price is £6.00
‘Touchtrust’ which is aimed at those with severe and complex disabilities allowing them to access creative movement.
Our outreach classes are currently based outside Glasgow for children, youths and families in Wishaw on a Tuesday evening, Cumbernauld on a Thursday evening and in Clydebank and Kilmarnock on a Saturday providing a welcoming environment for everyone to take part.
Classes are £6per class and block booking is £4per class for the number of weeks in our term.
